Judge's career won't end at retirement

Iowa Appeals Court Judge Terry L. Huitink will retire from the bench Wednesday, but his career is far from over.

For starters, he was appointed Tuesday by the Iowa Supreme Court to a two-year term as a senior appellate judge. He will hear 26 to 30 cases a year in that role.

Colleagues and friends lauded Huitink this week as a genuinely compassionate and impartial judge who displayed deep knowledge of the law and strove to serve all the people of Iowa.
