The rate of unemployment rose to 9.9 percent in April, as 2,200 jobs in the legal field were lost in the past two months. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics' latest figures, about 1,000 law jobs were lost in the month of March and 1,100 jobs were lost in April. Additionally, in a revised report for February jobs report, it was mentioned that instead of 100 lost jobs, there was actually a gain of 700 law jobs. Further, more than 28,000 legal jobs were lost in the past 12 months. This is particularly a staggering number to note, amidst more and more admissions in law schools.

The New Hampshire law is specially designed to reduce the demand for jobless benefits. The law will also keep eligibility of workers for employer health benefits intact.
