What was the result of the war between Greece and Persia?

About a month after defeating King Leonidas at Thermopylæ, the Persians under Xerxes captured Athens, but the Athenian navy destroyed the Persian fleet at Salamis. This was the decisive battle of the Greco-Persian War, after which Xerxes returned home. He left an occupation force to retain control of Thebes and the other cities he had captured. A Greek army, including 10,000 Spartans and 8,000 Athenians, defeated the remaining Persians at Plataea in 479 BC, a year after Thermopylæ. Once the Persians were no longer a threat, Sparta lost interest in the war and reduced the scope of its activity to Peloponnesia (southern Greece). Various other Greek states joined together in a league, or empire, led by Athens, which had the most democratic government in Greece. Attempting to liberate Greek cities on the eastern coast of Asia Minor (now Turkey), the league fought the Persians off and on for the next 30 years. Under the leadership of Pericles (d. 429 BC), Athens experienced a flowering of philosophy and literature. This was the "coming age of freedom" alluded to several times in ''300''.

I haven't seen this movie yet, but will keep this idea in mind, as it sounds intriguing. However, I think that protesting a movie like this on the grounds of racism is but a drop in the bucket. There is a vast array of racist content in many movies and television programming. WaMu's recent series of television commericals are racist. Most black comedies (ie-- White Chicks and Pootie Tang) are extremely racist. Racism will always exist as long as there is a market for making people feel good about themselves while watching others get ridiculed.

I have seen this movie twice. Its g8, the visual effects are cool.

Its amazing how they got so well build 300 men to do the job.

I mean when they show the 300 men march they look equals.

You gotta watch this soon.............

Racist or not, i think the movie really rocked.. the cinematography was so awessome.. it actually made me feel i am there.. in that era.. watching these brave greeks fighting for their freedom..
