Morrison & Foerster’s Tokyo Office Adds New Partner
Summary: Highly experienced real estate partner Joshua Isenberg has joined the Tokyo office of law firm Morrison & Foerster.
Morrison & Foerster is a leading global law firm that has just announced the addition of a new partner to their Tokyo office real estate practice. Joshua Isenberg is joining the firm from Paul Hastings where he was leading their real estate practice in Tokyo.

Isenberg has experience in cross-border transactions. Firmwide Managing Partner for Asia Eric Piesner said, “Josh’s deep experience representing Japanese corporates in their overseas real estate investments is impressive, and his addition complements our market-leading team in Tokyo. Josh has a well-earned reputation as a sophisticated real estate lawyer, and we’re excited to welcome him to the firm.”
He will be focusing his work on inbound practice, representing global investors acquiring assets in Japan. He will also work on growing the outbound practice which allows the firm to support Japanese corporate clients that invest in the U.S. Isenberg will do this through real estate transactions such as mezzanine and senior financing, sales, acquisitions, joint ventures, construction and development matters, and ground leases. Some of his clients have been institutional and private clients connected to industrial, office, retail, hotel, mixed-use, and multifamily matters.
With a law degree and MBA from the University of Southern California and his B.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara, Isenberg is admitted to practice in California, New York, and Japan. He has been recognized in Chambers & Partners Asia Pacific 2015 and Legal 500 Asia Pacific.
