Greenberg Traurig Floats Blog on Restructuring

With competition increasing every day, law firms are finding innovative ways to connect to potential clients and markets, and Greenberg Traurig's new "GT Restructuring Review" is another such project. It's a nice idea, and Greenberg Traurig, certainly, has the resources required to sustain and keep running a blog dedicated to the restructuring market.

Greenberg Traurig Floats Blog on Restructuring
The law firm said in its press release that the blog is meant to provide substantive information on topics of interest and developments in the restructuring industry. At a first glance the blog promises some excellent resources including but not limited to:
  • Blog posts by Professor G. Ray Warner. Warner is Of Counsel in Greenberg Traruig's Business Reorganization & Financial Restructuring Practice. He is a professor of law for bankruptcy studies at St. Johns University School of Law, New York, where he is also the associate dean and heads the nation's only Masters in Bankruptcy Program. Professor Warner is a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy, the academic director of the INSOL Global Insolvency Practice Course and Fellows Program. Warner, who is also a former officer of the American Bankruptcy Institute, will provide frequent commentary on the blog on recent bankruptcy and Uniform Commercial Code decisions.
  • The blog will also have a "Question of the Week" section dealing with a commonly-asked restructuring question every week. The law firm has promised that the section will not only illustrate the nuts and bolts of bankruptcy, but will also address sophisticated issues.
  • Besides the above two sections, the blog will also have Articles authored by Greenberg Traurig attorneys on recent decisions, trends in the restructuring industry, and key statutes and their developments.

Nancy A. Mitchell, operating shareholder of the law firm's Business Reorganization & Financial Restructuring Practice said, "We are very excited about the launch of GT Restructuring Review. The site leverages the firm's intellectual capital and capabilities and allows for a conversation with those in the restructuring industry."

The Business Reorganization & Financial Restructuring Practice has always been strong at Greenberg Traurig and in 2013, U.S. News Best Lawyers named it "Law Firm of the Year" in the Bankruptcy & Creditor Debtor Rights / Insolvency & Reorganization Law and Litigation - Bankruptcy categories.

So, coming from them, the blog on restructuring is expected to be useful. Mitchell also clarified the position of the law firm on the blog and said, "Our objective is to provide our clients and friends with a reliable source of information and to stimulate debate."
