Do Not Be Arrogant
Harrison Barnes | Dated: 09-08-2010
In this article Harrison discusses how arrogance is a sign of weak and insecure people. Harrison strongly believes that the most arrogant people are often the most uncertain of themselves. On the road to success the worst thing you can do is act as if you think you are better than everybody else. Arrogant behavior broadcasts to the world that you are weak and afraid, afraid for people to see who you really are. It can be detrimental to your career as well as your personal life. One of the greatest skills we can possess is the ability to make people empathize with us, sympathize with us and, most importantly, want to help us. Work to develop empathy amongst your peers, not resentment or anger. Exuding arrogance is an invitation to others to push you down and it is also a sign of weakness. No related posts.

Midlevel lawyers still unhappy
By A.S. Pradhan
Most people would be happy to have a job in this economy. The threat of outsourcing hitting all white-collar jobs, these people would be happy earning over 100K or at least over 80K a year. But seems like social prestige and good pay are not enough for middle level lawyers working in Biglaw firms, or a portion of them who took part in American Lawyer’s annual midlevel associate survey. For 24-year-old Scott Resnick, law school promises to lead to many opportunities. Originally from Orange, California, Resnick has lived and traveled extensively and has a very colorful background. After graduating from high school in 2002, he spent one semester at the University of Texas at Austin and realized that Texas was not for him. He then spent one semester at a community college so he could easily transfer to UCLA. He graduated less than two years later.

One of the most beautiful college campuses found anywhere in the country is in Austin, Texas - home of the University of Texas School of Law. Founded in 1883, and around the time Austin was named the state capital, this massive campus that houses the law school began with just two professors and less than sixty students. We're proud to profile this prestigious institution in this week's Law Crossing Law School series.
